PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data identifying circuit suited to a Costas loop composed of a digital circuit. SOLUTION: The data identifying apparatus for identifying whether prescribed data are contained in a digitized demodulated signal or not is provided with: a detection means for detecting the number of at least one of '0' and '1' contained in the demodulated signals for a prescribed length; and a discrimination means for discriminating whether the prescribed data are contained in the demodulated signal or not in accordance with the result detected by the detection means.
