摘要

PURPOSE: An electron gun is provided to allow for ease of control of astigmatism and achieve improved resolution by changing the thickness of the auxiliary electrode without causing changes of shape of electron beam passing hole. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun comprises a main electrode unit including a focusing electrode for focusing the electron beam emitted from a cathode toward a phosphor screen, and an anode. The main electrode unit includes an auxiliary electrode(171) on which red, green and blue electron beam passing holes are arranged in a line. The peripheral part of the electron beam passing hole formed at the center of the auxiliary electrode has a thickness which is partially different.
