Window frame components designed as channel sections from thin sheet which are mitred and clamped and filled with polyurethane foam to form a rigid core connecting the components into the frame structure. The outer frame members can be coated in polyvinylfluoride or made from stainless steel, whilst the inner components can be cheap steel, or coated to suit interiors or made from other material. Identical frame components can be formed into a frame assembly with cavity for the rigid foam connector core. Flanges pointing inward and outward hold the glazing with nailed batten, or fix to the masonry. The frame is light, cheap to make, requires fewer forming tools and less labour and is adaptable to site or project needs or climatic conditions. |
