<p>The present invention provides methods of determining the presence of an alternative transcript form of a nucleic acid molecule. An mRNA sequence is mapped onto a corresponding genomic DNA sequence to reveal at least one mRNA exon fragment. An expressed sequence tag database is interrogated for expressed sequence tags similar to the genomic DNA sequence to generate a collection of expressed sequence tags. The expressed sequence tags in the collection are clustered. The presence of two or more clusters of expressed sequence tags indicates the presence of an alternative transcript form of the nucleic acid molecule.</p> |
