The channel rail crossing point has at least 2 intersecting channel rail sections coupled together via a heart piece (4) with 2 intersecting travel channels (7,9) for guiding the wheels of a rail vehicle. The heart piece is formed as interlocking upper and lower parts (5,6), the upper part connected between the ends of one channel rail section and the lower part connected between the ends of the other channel rail section, the lower part having a travel channel interrupted by a notch for locating the upper part which has a travel channel intersected by a short travel channel section (8) joining the travel channel sections in the lower part.
