RESIN COMPOSITION

A resin composition for a formed article which comprises: a polyester capable of having a crystalline structure, and a cyclic compound which is represented by the general formula (I): (I) , wherein A1, A2, A4 and A5 may be the same or different and each represent -CO- or -NH-, A3 and A6 may be the same or different and each represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an aliphatic group optionally substituted or an aromatic group optionally substituted, and has both of -CO- and -NH- in a molecule, or a mixture of (a) a cyclic compound which is represented by the formula (I) and has -CO- and no -NH- in a molecule and (b) a cyclic compound which is represented by the formula (I) and has -NH- and no -CO- in a molecule; and a formed article comprising the resin composition. The resin composition comprises a nucleating agent suitable for accelerating the crystallization of a polyester capable of having a crystalline structure, in particular, a biodegradable polyester.
