PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus whose heat efficiency is excellent in spite of simplified constitution and where the occurrence of tucking is restrained. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a fixing device including a fixing means for pressuring and heating toner on transfer material, an advance guide plate provided at the upstream position of the fixing means, and an ejection guide plate provided at the downstream position of the fixing means. The height position of the advance guide plate is set to be higher than that of the ejection guide plate, and the advance guide plate and the ejection guide plate are coupled through a heat pipe.
