<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming material having a thermal transfer sheet which has an image forming layer in the shape of a uniform application surface and is improved in the transfer properties of an image formed in the image forming layer to an image receiving sheet and in sensitivity, and/or the image receiving sheet which has an image receiving layer in the shape of a uniform application surface and is improved in uniform transfer properties of the image formed in the image forming layer of the thermal transfer sheet from the thermal transfer sheet. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming material includes the image receiving sheet having at least the image receiving layer on a support, and the thermal transfer sheet having at least a photothermal conversion layer and the image forming layer on a support and uses laser beams.
