PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure durability of a bearing part of a water pump, and to prevent the generation of wrong recognition of a water leak accident when a user sees the drained water during the warm-up operation. SOLUTION: A water storage part 18 formed by forming a recess in the inner surface of a case 11 is provided under a part of the case 11 between a seal part sealed by a seal member 17 and a pump shaft support part for supporting with a bearing part 13. A drain passage 19 is provided to be extended downward from an opening 19a, which is provided in an upper part of a tilted side surface 18a of the water storage part 18 on a bearing 13 side, to communicate the water storage part 18 with outside of the case 11. The cooling water leaked from the seal part flows into the water storage part 18, and when the flow-in quantity exceeds a constant quantity, the stored water is discharged outside through the drain passage 19, and reach of the cooling water to the bearing part 13 is thereby prevented. Since a time to be required from the generation of water leak to draining is secured by a water storing function of the water storage part 18, the generation of wrong recognition of a water leak accident when a user sees the drained water during the warm-up operation is prevented.
