PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a theft preventive device for an elevator to prevent components in an elevator car from being stolen. SOLUTION: The theft preventive device of the elevator is to prevent any component(s) in an elevator car 1, for example an operation panel 2, from being stolen and is equipped with a failure sensing circuit 7 to sense that mounting screw(s) of the operation panel 2 is removed and a control means 8 to actuate an alarm device 4 installed in the car 1 when signals are emitted from the sensing circuit and an elevator control circuit 6 to emit an output when the door is left open.
