<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control engagement torque of an electromagnetic clutch in front and rear wheel drive travel to reduce an electric power consumption required for keeping engagement of the electromagnetic clutch, in a drive for driving a rear wheel side by an electric motor independent of an engine that is a driving means for a front wheel side. <P>SOLUTION: This drive is provided with a torque control means for controlling the engagement torque of the electromagnetic clutch in the front and rear wheel drive travel in response to output torque of the electric motor, the engagement torque of the electromagnetic clutch is controlled to the minimum required to transmit the output torque of the electric motor to the rear wheel side to reduce the electric power consumption required for keeping the engagement of the electromagnetic clutch. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
