On initial start up after detection of a line fault a number of detections are undertaken. These include the location of the fault, and the first and second addresses of the last detector reached. A comparison is made with previously-stored information concerning the desired or actual data of the alarm lines. An Independent claim is included for the corresponding hazard alarm system.
