The machining device machines boards on a machine mounting (12) forming a resting table (14). A transporting carriage (18) moves along a machining direction. There are two machining units one behind the other with motor-driven machining tools (32, 34). The machining units are held in sequence in the machining direction on the transporting carriage so that they can be commuted.
