PURPOSE: A ginsenoside composition obtained by extracting ginseng hairy roots in spirits or ethanol and then absorbing extracts in a benzene ethylene resin is provided. The ginsenoside composition of Ginseno-JK has an effect of enhancing memory and thus can be used as a preventive and improving agent for senile dementia and a raw material for a beverage and food. CONSTITUTION: Ginseng hairy roots obtained from tissue culture are added with 70% spirits or ethanol 5 to 10 times and then extracted at 80deg.C for 4 hr. The extraction procedure is repeated 3 times and concentrated under reduced pressure, the extract is added with water 2 times, passed through a benzene ethylene resin, washed with water 10 times and dissolved in 20% spirits 5 times by weight of resin to remove non-saponin components(amino acid, organic acid, free sugar or the like), followed by dissolving in 60% spirits 10 times by weight of resin. The ginsenoside composition contains ginsenoside Rb1, Rb2, Rc, Rd, Re and Rg1 in which the content of ginsenoside Rb1, Rb2, Rc and Rd is less than 1/2 of Rg1.
