摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct control to eliminate an angular deviation between an advancing direction and a traveling lane for a vehicle, so as to prevent the vehicle from running out the traveling lane. <P>SOLUTION: This support system is provided with a lane angle detecting means for detecting an angle of the vehicle with respect to the travel lane in the front side where the vehicle travels after a prescribed time or in the front side by a prescribed distance from the vehicle, a target advancing direction calculating means for calculating an advancing direction of the vehicle to bring the angle into zero, based on an output from the lane angle detecting means, and an advancing direction control means for controlling the advancing direction of the vehicle, based on an output from the target advancing direction calculating means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p>
