PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional shorts having slightly oppressive feeling and also slightly bulky feeling, and excellent in wearability by eliminating an unnecessary part of the fabric superposed on undershorts while leaving only necessity minimum pieces of the fabric for trimming the body. SOLUTION: The functional shorts comprise a front fabric piece 1 covering the belly part of the wearer's body, a back fabric piece 2 covering the wearer's buttock, and a crotch fabric piece linking the front fabric piece to the back fabric piece. The crotch fabric part is removed while leaving string-like fabric pieces 3a, 3b each joining both of the lower edges of the front fabric piece 1 to both of the lower edges of the back fabric piece 2. The lower part fabric piece useless for trimming the body shape of the belly part is removed from the front fabric piece 1 so that the part ranging from the lower belly part to the crotch part is open out.
