PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing titanium which hardly discolors in the atmospheric environment. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the titanium which hardly discolors in the atmospheric environment comprises applying a nitric acid solution of a concentration 15 to 71 mass% and temperature 40 to 80°C to the titanium surface or immersing the titanium surface into the solution by an immersion treatment for 5 to 180 minutes, then cleaning the titanium surface. Accordingly, the titanium has an excellent discoloration resistance even in a sulfuric acid solution of a pH 3 simulating severe acidic rain and is particularly effective for applications in the outdoor environment like on a roof or wall panel.
