PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide prefoaming particles made of a polyester resin which are suited in producing a foam having excellent heat resistance, lightness, and moldability. SOLUTION: The prefoaming particles made of a polyester resin are spherical particles having a two-layer structure composed of (A) a polyester resin having a glass transition temperature of <90°C and (B) a polyester resin which covers the polyester resin (A) and has terephthalic acid as the main acid component and spiroglycol and ethylene glycol as the glycol component and a glass transition temperature of≥90°C, and alternatively the prefoaming particles made of a polyester resin are composed of the polyester resin (B) alone.
