PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluidized bed combustion device and a combustion method, capable of simultaneously suppressing generation of NOx, CO and dioxins. SOLUTION: An oxidizer such as air is supplied from four air supply ports 1-4 in at least four positions different in height from a bottom part of a combustion furnace 13, in a divided state into four stages. In the stages 6, 7 in the first half of combustion inside the combustion furnace 13, reducing atmosphere of excess air ratio <1 is formed to suppress the generation of NOx. In the stages 8, 9 in the latter half, oxidizing atmosphere of excess air ratio≥1 is formed to promote oxidation of CO in order to reduce CO. By keeping a combustion temperature in 750-950°C to promote decomposition of the dioxins, the combustion device simultaneously reduces NOx, CO and the dioxins. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
