PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner capable of heightening a degree of freedom in design of an engine room without deteriorating workability upon exchanging a filter. SOLUTION: This air cleaner comprises a hollow-like drum 13 rotatably accommodated in a cleaner easing 11 of a cleaner 10 communicated with an intake duct 20, and formed with air passage ports 13c, 13d at an outer periphery 13a and a rotation axial end 13b; and a belt-like filter cartridge 14 detachably attached to the drum 13, windably and rewindably wound around the outer periphery 13a of the drum 13, and passing air in a radial direction under a winding condition for removing dusts. Since the filter cartridge 14 is shaped like a belt when the filter cartridge 14 is taken up from a casing, a take-up port 11e may be small. A cleaner casing 11 can be close to a cowl 22, so as to heighten a degree of freedom in design of an engine room R portion. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
