PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning unit of a drilling rod capable of removing materials adhered to the outer peripheral face of a drilling rod without depending on manual works of an operator, as a result, developing safety of operators for a ground improvement work and reducing labor of operators. SOLUTION: When a push rod 14b of a hydraulic cylinder 14 is projected, a main arm 12 shakes forward a shaking pin 19 as a center and a loose wire 16 is tensed according to the shake. When an engaging hook 15f of a brush member 15 is pulled by the loosen wire 16, a vertical arm 13 is shaken around a shaking pin 21. The brush member 15 connected to the vertical arm 13 is elongated to the drilling rod 6. When the brush member 15 reaches a use position by the elongation, the wire brush 15a is brought into contact with the outer peripheral face of the drilling rod 6 while elastically warping and deforming, the adhered materials such as mud or ground improving agent are scraped from the outer peripheral face of the rotating drilling rod 6.
