PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid catalyst component for polymerizing an olefin compound capable of obtaining the olefin polymer that has a high polymerization activity and excellent stereoregularity and powder form, to obtain a catalyst for polymerizing an olefin, and to provide a method for manufacturing an olefin polymer. SOLUTION: The solid catalyst component for polymerizing the olefin compound is obtained by allowing the following compounds (a), (b) and (d) or the following compounds (a), (b), (c) and (d) to react with each other: (a) a halogen- containing titanium compound; (b) an alkoxy group-containing magnesium compound; (c) a halogen-containing silicon compound; and (d) an electron-donating compound represented by formula (I) (wherein, (n) is an integer of 1-2, R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>8</SP>are each a substituent group having at least one element selected from carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, halogens, nitrogen, phosphorus, boron and silicon, and arbitrary ones of R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>8</SP>may be joined to form a ring other than benzene ring).
