A Triggerless Call Type Blocking (TCTB) system and method in a telecommunications network. Upon intercepting an incoming signaling message received at an STP on a selected linkset, a database provided with the STP is queried based on subscriber number information in the incoming message. Service logic at STP is operable to provide call treatment, including termination, based on the results obtained from the database. <IMAGE>
