PURPOSE:To provide an image forming device surely detecting a failure and performing appropriate temperature control even in the case that a temperature detecting means causes an incomplete short circuit. CONSTITUTION:A heater R3 is turned off and a timer is started after the finish of a printing action. The temperature T of a thermistor TH1 is compared with normal high temperature T2 previously set, and when it is higher than T2, comparison is repeated until the timer finishes. Then, in the case that it becomes lower than the temperature T2 within specified time, it is judged that the thermistor TH1 is normal. On the other hand, in the case that the timer finishes without lowering it to the temperature T2, it is judged that the thermistor TH1 has the failure like short circuit or the like and a warning about it is given. In this case, next printing action is inhibited. |
