PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible shock absorber for a shield tunnel, which is simple in structure, low in cost, and positively carries out absorption of vibration and displacement, and water sealing. SOLUTION: The shield tunnel is constructed by assembling segments 2 in a circumferential direction into a segment ring A2, and sequentially connecting the segment rings A2 thus assembled and extending the same in an axial direction. Then, a flexible segment ring formed of flexible segments is built in part of the shield tunnel. Each flexible segment 1 has a flexible member 10 incorporated therein along a widthwise central portion of the segment. Then, a lining external side surface of each flexible segment 1 forming the flexible segment ring, is covered with a waterproof sheet 3, and a gap between the waterproof sheets covering the circumferential side connecting end faces of the adjacent flexible segments is waterproofed.
