<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for opening or closing the opening of a rearing barn, which can previously prevent an unexpected trouble caused by a ventilation failure or an oxygen-deficient state, has excellent heat insulation and air tightness in the opening of the rearing barn, has a simple structure, is made at a low cost, and easily maintained. <P>SOLUTION: This apparatus for opening or closing the opening of the rearing barn comprises a laterally long opening or closing member 10 for covering the opening 2 of the rearing barn in a state capable of freely opening or closing the opening 2, wherein the opening 2 is opened with the dead weight of the opening or closing member 10 on power failure and is automatically closed on power supply. The opening or closing member 10 is formed from an expandable or shrinkable air mat 10 comprising mutually communicating air bags 13 vertically disposed in a plurality of stages at a longitudinal cross-sectional view.
