PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sphygmograph which can be rapidly and highly accurately positioned. SOLUTION: The sphygmograph has a sensor unit 1 including a pulse wave sensor and a base 2. The base 2 of the sphygmograph is set to a subject's wrist. In this case, fingers and a detector are inserted from a pulse detecting hole 22 provided at the base 2 to detect the subject's artery, and the base 2 is fixed to the subject's wrist by a belt so that the subject's artery is disposed at the center of the base 2. The unit 1 is set to the base 2 by a clip 13. In this state, the positional relationship between the unit 1 and the artery is detected. If a deviation occurs, the unit 1 is slid so that a mark 14 is moved by 211 of the scale of a predetermined number, matched to an optimum position, and the subject's pulse wave is measured.
