PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a needle feed sewing machine which enables the shortening of the end parts of the threads in sewing objects without damaging them. SOLUTION: The needle feed sewing machine has a feed dog 11 which gets a fabric 61 sewn at a specified stitching pitch in cooperation with a needle 3 while vertically moving within an opening 52 of a throat plate 50 rotating to feed the fabric 61, a thread cutting mechanism 450 for cutting the end parts of the threads stitched into the fabric 61 and a feed dog reversing mechanism 400 which moves the feed dog 11 by a distance narrower than the switching pitch while keeping it under the horizontal plane of the throat plate 50 by reversing the rotation of the feed dog 11 at a timing corresponding to the angle of the spindle 2 before the thread end parts are cut from the position where the feed dog 11 gets into under the horizontal plane of the throat plate 50 in the process of cutting the thread end parts of the fabric 61.
