<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic motor wherein vibration node lines are stabilized. <P>SOLUTION: The ultrasonic motor has a transducer 21 provided thereon with driving lugs 5 which are opposed to and abutted against a rotor 2 and rotates the rotor 2, and piezoelectric elements 3 stuck to the transducer 1. Voltage is applied to the piezoelectric elements 3 to produce standing waves having vibration node lines N<SB>1</SB>and N<SB>2</SB>running through the center O1 of rotation of the rotor 2 at the transducer 1 based on ultrasonic vibration. Thus, the rotor 2 is rotated by the driving lugs 5 in one direction. Further, the vibration node lines N<SB>1</SB>and N<SB>2</SB>are changed to rotate the rotor 2 in the opposite direction. On the transducer 1, dummy lugs 7 for balancing are protruded and formed in positions symmetrical to the positions of the driving lugs 5 with respect to the vibration node lines N<SB>1</SB>and N<SB>2</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
