PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method for promoting the treatment of existing meat and bone meal and economically treating wastes accompanied by the meat treatment. SOLUTION: This method for treating the meat and bone meal or the meat treatment wastes is characterized by applying a prion inactivation treatment for inactivating infectious prion proteins contained in the treatment target in a prion inactivation treatment portion 5 and then applying a fuel-forming treatment to an intermediate treatment product obtained by the prion inactivation treatment to obtain the fuel.
