<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus with high reliability capable of always forming an image of stable density and high image quality, irrespective of a change in transfer efficiency, and to provide its control method. <P>SOLUTION: At a warming up time, the operational condition of the apparatus is set so that a prescribed latent image is formed on a photoreceptor, then, developed, and the amount of developer sticking to the photoreceptor becomes the prescribed reference value. And, the environmental temperature and the environmental humidity are detected, and the operational condition set at the warming up time is corrected in accordance with the detected temperature and the detected humidity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
