<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract and identify an object included in an image photographed by a user with a digital camera. <P>SOLUTION: A server 2 as a computer whose calculating capability is high is provided with an object extracting/recognizing means 202 for extracting and identifying an object included in an image, a data retrieving means 203 for retrieving a data base by using an identification result, and a means 201 for performing data communication with a portable terminal 1. Image data photographed by an image inputting means 101 being the digital camera of the portable terminal 1 are transmitted to the server 2, and an object is retrieved at the server 2 side, and transmitted to the portable terminal 1. Thus, the server whose calculating capability is high is made to perform the extraction and recognition of the object from an image whose calculation quantity is large. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
