PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a UV microscope which is mechanically simple and can be reduced in size. SOLUTION: The UV microscope has a light source adapter 11 which is made incident with the light from a light source 12 for visible light emitting the light of a visible region and a light source 14 for UV light emitting the light of a UV region and selectively emits the UV light or visible light. The microscope illuminates a sample 3 by the light from this adapter 11 through an illumination optical system 7 and forms the optical image of the sample 3 as an enlarged optical image to an imaging plane 26 of a TV camera 25 by an image forming optical system 24 including an objective lens system. At least the optical system 7 and the optical system 24 are formed of optical materials allowing the transmission of the light of the wavelength region from the visible region to the UV region.
