PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal remote control system capable of automatically executing version upgrade without the need for installing a remote control application to a terminal side. SOLUTION: The mobile terminal 101 displays a menu on the basis of menu information V11, a user selects an apparatus while viewing an operation menu and the terminal 101 outputs operation information V21. A control section 102 stores a remote control application corresponding to each apparatus, boots the remote control application corresponding to the selected apparatus 103 on the basis of the information V21 to output image information V12. The mobile terminal 101 displays the operation menu corresponding to the selected apparatus and outputs operation information V22 received by the user. The control section 102 generates and transmits a control signal V3 corresponding to the selected apparatus on the basis of the operation information V22. Further, the control section may be provided with a function of extracting version upgrade information from a digital broadcast signal to upgrade the remote control application to have the newest version.
