摘要 #CMT# #/CMT# The method involves contactlessly disconnecting an inactive electronic circuit (2) e.g. microprocessor, from a power supply (Vcc) during exceeding of threshold temperature, where a plastic housing (3) is provided for accommodating the electronic circuit. The electronic circuit is connected with the power supply during exceeding of another threshold temperature, which is smaller than the former threshold temperature. A temperature sensitive switch element (7) i.e. bimetallic switch is utilized for selective disconnection and connection of the electronic circuit with the power supply. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a portable data carrier comprising a contactlessly activatable switch device. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Method for reducing quiescent current consumption of an inactive electronic circuit e.g. microprocessor, of a portable data carrier (claimed) e.g. chip card such as smartcard and microprocessor chip card, token or chip module for installation in the chip card or chip token, and data processing system, during production of the data carrier. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The method prevents the power supply present in the portable data carrier from being unnecessary discharged by temperature limited leakage current of the electronic circuit, during occurrence of high temperature in the data carrier manufacturing process.
