PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a sensor for detecting the size of frequency and vibration load of a structure or a machine product without requiring a complicated measuring instrument. SOLUTION: A plurality of vibrating pieces 2 different in the relationship between the size of natural frequency and the vibration load and a progress of a crack are attached to an object to be detected 5 such as the structure or the machine product. When the object 5 vibrates, the vibrating pieces 2 having the natural frequency close to its frequency resonate, and the crack progresses from an initial crack 4 prearranged in the vibrating pieces 2. Since the relationship between the natural frequency of the vibrating pieces 2, the size of the vibration load, and the progress of the crack is known, the size of the frequency and the vibration load of the object 5 can be detected by measuring how much crack progress is in any vibrating piece 2.
