摘要 1297577 Milling and boring machines; indexing CNMP-BERTHIEZ 5 Aug 1970 [8 Aug 1969] 37703/70 Headings B3B and B3C A tool head 2 comprises an indexable turret 10, pivotal in a split body 5, 6, which body is arranged to be secured to a machine tool, the turret comprising a plurality of tool spindles 14, and a casing 8 coaxial with the turret and interposed between the turret and the body on which it is rotatably mounted, the casing containing drive means 73 which can be coupled selectively with one of the tool spindles following indexing of the casing to a selected working position 3a or 3b. Head 2 is shown mounted on a horizontal milling and boring machine in Fig. 1, the head-stock 1 of which is vertically movable, and the table 4 of which is horizontally movable so as to provide relative movement between the tool and workpiece. Each of the spindles 14 when in the operating position is driven by a belt drive 34, 35 Fig. 11, through a hub 40 splined to a shaft 19, the hub being selectively connected to pulley 34 by an axially movable sleeve 44 which engages with teeth 49 of the pulley. The pulley can instead be connected to the coupling 50 of a drilling spindle Fig. 2, so as to provide a low speed. Shaft 19 drives shaft 73 through an electro-magnetic multiplate clutch 57, a multiplate electromagnetically controlled friction brake 59, bevel gears 62, 63, a shaft 64 and bevel gears 82, 71, and shaft 73 is moved into engagement with the operating tool spindle 14 by a pin and yoke 85, 86 Fig. 2, actuated by fluid pressure. The turret is rotated through steps of 45 degrees by a pinion 115 Fig. 3 which meshes with a gear 113 on the turret, the pinion being driven by a fluid pressure rotary piston and cylinder arrangement (120), (122), Fig. 6 (not shown), through a free wheel drive 117 Fig. 3. The turret is locked in the indexed positions by a pin (135), Fig. 7 (not shown), which is actuated by fluid pressure and is located in bores 133 Fig. 3 provided for each tool spindle positioned. In operation, with turret 10 locked and one of the tool spindles being driven by shaft 73 a switch is actuated so as to operate brake 57 and clutch 59 and stop shaft 73 and spindle 14. Shaft 73 is moved into the disengaged position by pin and yoke 85, 86, Fig. 2, pin 135, Fig. 7 (not shown), is raised to disengage from a bore 133 Fig. 3, the turret is indexed through 45 degrees by pinion and gear 115, 113, to bring the next tool into the working position, whereupon pin (135) is moved into the next bore 133 of the turret. Shaft 73 is moved into engagement with the new tool spindle 14 and is then rotated to drive the tool. The sequence of operations is carried out by the hydraulic circuit of Figs. 8-10 (not shown).
