The method involves using a multiple beam radar system to measure between an object and a reference axis. The measurement is evaluated for each individual receiver channel and an object angle is formed from individual object angles. N measurement cycles are evaluated together for object angle determination and a measured angle is determined as the actual object angle from the N measured angle values in accordance with coincidence criteria. The method involves using a multiple beam radar system to measure between an object and a reference axis, preferably the optical axis of the radar transmitter. The measurement is evaluated for each individual receiver channel and an object angle is formed from individual object angles. N measurement cycles are evaluated together for object angle determination and a measured angle is determined as the actual object angle from the N measured angle values in accordance with coincidence criteria. An Independent claim is also included for a multiple beam radar system for determining an object angle.
