<p>The present invention relates to methods of associating nucleic acid sequences of unknown function with particular sub-populations, and methods of associating cells of unknown function with particular sub-populations. The method includes collecting hybridization data, developing a gene expression map, and comparing a nucleic acid sequence of unknown function to the gene expression map to determine in what sub-population the gene is expressed.
