A hinge assembly 1 comprises a body 3 formed with an aperture 19 that is closable by a closure member (37, FIG.4) hinged to the body 3, a marginal region of the body 3 bounding said aperture 19 being formed with at least one fold 5, the marginal region of the body 3 thereby occupying at least two planes, an opening being formed through the fold 5 of the body 3. The closure 37 is provided with a projecting hinge knuckle (39, FIG.5) dimensioned to extend through the opening of the body 3 into the interior of the fold 5 in the body 3, and a hinge pin (43. FIG.5) adapted to be received in the hinge knuckle 39 and so as to project from at least one end of the hinge knuckle 39 with the projecting end lying within the trough of the fold 5 adjacent to the opening to retain captive the closure 37 to the body 3, and to permit rotation of the closure 37 relative to the body 3 about the axis of the hinge pin 43. |
