PURPOSE: Marks for identification of an individual using mitochondria gene information are provided, thereby easily identifying an individual using a conventional bar-code system, a magnetic system or CD. CONSTITUTION: Marks for identification of an individual have numerals of one or more ciphers corresponding to bases in the nucleotide sequences of HVR(hyper variable region) I or II of mitochondria DNA, wherein each of the bases has predetermined numeral; the numerals are represented by bar-code. A product for identification of an individual comprises the marks using mitochondria gene information, wherein the marks are recorded in a magnetic strip; and the product is selected from an ID card, a name card, a credit card, a necklace, an armband, a hairband, clothes, purse, a diary, a bag, a writing tool, and a key holder.
