PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for data transfer, which enable the high-speed transfer of large volumes of data. SOLUTION: An image display device 21 is provided with a main bus 26 which is connected to an interface 22, a central processing unit (CPU) 23, a read-only memory (ROM) 24, a random-access memory (RAM) 25 and a lithographic processor 30, so as to transfer the data among them. Separately from the main bus 26, the device 21 is also provided with a local bus 31 which is connected to a character ROM 27, a dynamic random access memory (DRAM) 28 and the lithographic processor 30, so as to transfer the data among them. The data are prestored in a large volume in the character ROM 27 and transferred to the DRAM 28 via the local bus 31, so that the main bus 26 can be prevented from being monopolized by the large volumes of the data. Additionally, the main bus 26 and the local bus 31 can concurrently transfer the data so as to enable the high-speed transfer of the data. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
