SUBSTANCE: method involves using electromagnetic waves emitted by transmitting apparatus in machine advancement direction; calculating specified tillage boundary values by reflected electromagnetic wave; generating on the basis of said values control error signal for control device adapted for controlling of machine advancement on the course on the basis of said values. Apparatus is located on tillage machine in the vicinity of tillage boundary and aligned so that tillage boundary is identified before beginning of tillage operation. Non-contact apparatus has device made in the form of scanner and adapted for operating with the use of electromagnetic waves and digital processing device for digital processing of specified tillage boundary setting values comprising reflection data. Non-contact apparatus allows all tillage boundaries or setting values possible in agriculture to be identified with required anticipation. Also, digital processing method for identifying of various tillage boundaries or setting values is selected automatically in accordance with selection method.
