PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal processor which can be mounted on a portable display device, such as a note PC, etc., and can display image signals containing standard image signals, such as the NTSC, etc., and image signals not following any standard in a mixed state with vivid colors and with which display equipment incorporated with a display device, and can develop mass-production of an image processor as a set after the display device is corrected to the optimum luminance, colors and emphasis. SOLUTION: This signal processor has a parameter storing means which stores a plurality of inverse gamma correction parameters; a parameter selecting means which decides the presence of a signal level lower or higher than a prescribed value from inputted image signals, and selects one from among the inverse gamma correction parameters based on the decision results; and an inverse gamma correcting means which performs inverse gamma correction on the inputted image signals, based on the inverse gamma correction parameter selected by means of the parameter selecting means.
