<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PDU observation method capable of improving reliability of a data communication network and availability by improving security of the data communication network with respect to a large quantity of illegal PDU purposely distributed on a connectionless data communication network. <P>SOLUTION: The connectionless data communication device decides whether or not a received PDU is a PDU to be processed in a software manner, counts the number of PDU to be processed in the software manner for each VPN, destination address, protocol or port number and decides whether or not a quantity of arriving PDU reaches a quantity which increases a software processing load based upon the count value. When it is decided that the quantity of the arriving PDU reaches the quantity which increases the software processing load, the received PDU is sent to the PDU observation apparatus by hardware without performing software processing, and the PDU observation apparatus receives the relevant PDU, performs display or statistic processing and displays the result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
