PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely store configuration information associated with an information processing system, and to surely restore an information processing system using the configuration information. SOLUTION: At the time of changing configuration information 307 of a disk array device 100 through a service processor 107 or a network 600 provided at the disk array device 100, configuration information backup data 307a and history information such as a storage time or change time are multiply stored in a hard disk drive 206 or a flash memory card 207 owned by a service processor 107. Even when a disk array device 100 is down due to any failure, the restoration of the disk array device 100 is surely realized from the configuration information backup data 307a stored in the hard disk drive 206 or the flash memory card 207.
