PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging type electric equipment that has a safe battery pack that does not give an electric shock, nor bring about short circuit even if touched other than for use. SOLUTION: This is a charging type electric equipment that is comprised of a battery pack 1 having built in a plurality of battery cells 3 and an electric equipment unit 20 that is installed with the battery pack 1 detachably and driven by the supplied voltage of the battery pack 1. The above plural battery cells 3 are divided in a plurality of sets of battery blocks 4 and comprise a switching means that cuts off the connection between each battery block 4 in the state of non-installation of the battery pack 1 and connects in series the plurality of sets of the whole battery blocks 4 in the state of installation of the battery pack 1. As a switching means, for example, a connecting switch 7 for connecting in series between each battery block 4 is provided in the battery pack 1, and an operating part 10 that is inserted in the battery pack 1 and closes the connecting switch 7 in the state of installation of the battery pack 1 is provided in the electrical equipment unit 20.
