PCMCIA/IEEE 1394 INTERFACE OF SET TOP BOX FOR RECEIVING SATELLITE BROADCAST

PURPOSE: A PCMCIA/IEEE 1394 interface of a set top box for receiving satellite broadcast is provided to transmit broadcasting data at higher rate and to reduce data loss due to transmission of broadcasting data of a TS signal. CONSTITUTION: A PCMCIA/IEEE 1394 interface(100) of a set top box for receiving satellite broadcast includes a PCMCIA port(120), an IEEE 1394 interface(160), and a switch(140). The PCMCIA port is connected to a PCMCIA slot linked with a main board of the set top box and receives broadcasting data of a TS signal converted by the set top box through the PCMCIA slot. The IEEE1394 interface is connected to an IEEE 1394 port(10) linked with an external device and transmits the broadcasting data of the TS signal inputted to the PCMCIA port to the external device through the IEEE 1394 port. The switch transmits the broadcasting data of the TS signal inputted to the PCMCIA port to the IEEE 1394 interface through a transmission line on the basis of a control command inputted to the PCMCIA port.
