PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC servo motor which can improve the motor efficiency by lengthening the rotor without changing the profile of the motor. SOLUTION: The AC servo motor comprises: a stator S and the rotor R concentrically disposed at a predetermined air gap so that the stator S has a plurality of Tees 4; an armature coil 2 provided in slots 5 provided between the Tees 4; and a permanent magnet 1 provided in the rotor R for a magnetic field. In this motor, a skew provided at the rotor R is axially divided into a plurality, the phase difference of the field opposed to both end faces of the stator is made 180°in the order of cogging. Further, the skew angleθ' when the rotor is projected on a surface parallel to the axial direction becomesθ'= tan<SP>-1</SP>(Dgsin(θ/2)/L), whereinθis the skew angle, Dg is a gap diameter between the stator S and the rotor R and L is the thickness of the stator.
