IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, RECORDING MEDIUM CARRYING SPEED CONTROL METHOD, PROGRAM, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance printing magnification precision by suppressing change of extension and contraction of an image caused by change of the outside diameter of a pressure member rotated and driven regardless of kinds of using recording paper and the recording number.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises: a fixing device 105 having a heat resistant film 114 and a pressure roller 116 contacted mutually, rotated and driven, and heated and fixed by holding and carrying the recording paper carrying a non-fixed toner image on a fixing nip; a paper discharge sensor 120 for detecting existence or absence of the recording paper in a carrying passage; and a control device 106 performing control changing over a carrying speed of the recording paper to at least two stages or more carrying speeds on the basis of a detection result, by measuring a time detecting a condition from existence of the recording paper till absence thereof in the carrying passage by the paper discharge sensor 120, and detecting the carrying speed of the recording paper on the basis of time measurement.
